About Us

Founded With Purpose

A Personal Mission Led by Compassion, Faith, and Action

Plant A Child on Fertile Soil International was founded by Olivia B. Nimley, a leader with a heart for vulnerable children, youth development, and community transformation.

Olivia believes that every child carries potential but potential needs the right environment to grow. Her mission is to help create that environment through education, mentorship, life skills, and basic needs support.

This work is not only about giving. It is about walking alongside children and youth as they discover confidence, direction, responsibility, and hope for their future.

When a child is surrounded by education, guidance, encouragement, and basic support, their potential has room to take root.

Our Story

Plant a Child on Fertile Soil International

Every child deserves a chance to grow, to learn, and to thrive. But for many children around the world, that opportunity is shaped or limited by the conditions they are born into.

Plant a Child on Fertile Soil International was founded on a deeply personal journey rooted in resilience, compassion, and lived experience.

Our founder was born and raised in Liberia, West Africa, where her childhood was disrupted by civil war. During those difficult years, she lived as a refugee and witnessed firsthand the realities many children face when their basic needs, food, safety, education, and care, are not met. She saw children struggle to survive without access to school, proper clothing, or stability. Those experiences left a lasting impact and planted the seed for a lifelong commitment to helping vulnerable children.

Years later, after migrating to the United States, her journey of service continued. She worked as an Instructional Associate at Charlotte Mecklenburg School, supporting students from low-income communities. There, she saw a different setting but the same underlying challenge: children struggling to learn and succeed because their basic needs were unmet. Whether it was a lack of school supplies, proper clothing, or support at home, the barriers were real, and they affected a child’s ability to thrive.

Her passion for youth advocacy deepened further when she transitioned into working with justice-involved youth in detention centers and youth development programs. In these spaces, she encountered young people who had often been overlooked, underserved, and without guidance. She recognized that many of these youths were not defined by their mistakes, but by the lack of opportunity, mentorship, and support in their lives.

From these combined experiences across continents, cultures, and communities, Plant a Child on Fertile Soil International was born.
